Recommended food + drink classes in NYC

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills or just to find a fun day or night event, these are food and drink classes that I recommend in the city.

Cooking

Abigails Kitchen (previously Camaje Bistro) - I took a sushi making class in 2009 and knife skills in 2022. Highly recommend for an intimate but quality cooking class with less than 10 people, where you can eat what you make and drink some wine during.

Brooklyn Brainery - wide variety of local classes.

Murray’s Cheese - for the cheese lovers out there, you’ll be sure to find a salivating class here like burrata making or wine and cheese pairing.

Sur La Table

Williams Sonoma

Drinks + Mixology

Astor Wines - They have great wine, whiskey, and cocktail classes here hosted by industry experts. Pick your poison - they’ll have something for you.

Apotheke Mixology - This cavernous cocktail bar in Chinatown offers mixology classes as well. Afterwards, head to Nom Wah Tea Parlor next door for dim sum!

Brandy Library - I admittedly have not been to a class here, but many whiskey lovers I know have appreciated their tastings (not cheap).

Corkbuzz - If you’re really into wine, they hold blind tasting and endless classes on wine regions and have multiple locations in the city.
